REGULATION OF PUBLIC PARKS OWNED AND MANAGED BY THE CITY OF COTTONWOOD SHORES, TEXAS
HOURS OF OPERATION (During Special Event)
City Park(s): All city parks shall be open to the public during the special event, Daily, unless closure due to flooding or possible flooding.
Boat Ramp: The boat ramp will be closed for events or functions.
PERMITTED USES ON AND WITHIN THE PARKS
SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT
WILL BE ISSUED FOR THE WEEK OF
THURSDAY, APRIL 4, 2024 THRU WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10, 2024.
Picnics, barbeques, family reunions, celebrations and seasonal events. (Fires in park designated barbecues and pits only, unless during a burn ban)
Walking, jogging, bicycle riding, sitting and napping.
Trailer storage (connected to vehicle), boat loading and unloading at Boat Ramp Park only.
Skateboarding at the Skate Park only.
PROHIBITED USES FOR ANY AND ALL CITY PARKS
SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT HAS BEEN ISSUED
Parking in City Parks will be Allowed during the Week of Thursday, April 4, 2024 thru Wednesday, April 10, 2024 Special Event Permit
Remaining on or in any park for a period of more than 16 hours (6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.) will be permitted during this special event permit issued by the city.
Camping Not Allowed During Event: It shall be unlawful for any person(s) to camp in a City park, during this special event permit issued by the city.
Overnight Parking: There shall be no overnight parking in City parks during this special event issued by the city.
Illegal Parking: The operating, stationing or parking of any motorized vehicle in any area of the city not designated for such will be considered illegal parking.
Camp Fires: Lighting or creating fire in any area of any park, except for designated barbeques or fire pits are considered illegal. (During Burn Bans -No Fires will be permitted.)
Fireworks Prohibited: It shall be unlawful for any individual, firm, partnership, corporation, or the City per Ordinance 5003.
Glass Containers Prohibited: It shall be unlawful for any person to bring any glass container into a City Park or possess any glass container in a City Park.
Alcoholic Beverages: Public consumption of any alcoholic beverage shall be prohibited at all City parks during this special event.
Firearms: Display or use of any firearm whatsoever, including bow and arrow or cross bow, in any park at anytime will be considered illegal.
Discharge of Firearms Prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to knowingly discharge a firearm within the City Limits of the City of Cottonwood Shores, Texas, including within any park, for any purpose, per Ordinance 8002, except a City of Cottonwood Police Officer in their official capacity.
PROHIBITED ACTS IN OR ON ANY AND ALL CITY PARKS
Many of the parks in the City of Cottonwood Shores contain items of historic, geologic, ecologic or archeological significance. Disturbing, defacing, damaging, removing or in any other way adversary affecting these items is a criminal offense.
When a special event allows Patrons in our Parks, they are expected to respect the rights of fellow patrons and to leave the park in the same or better condition than they found it.
Disposal of any refuse or litter whatsoever, except in designated containers.
Any lewd or lascivious act, public nudity or loud profanity.
ALCOHOL PERMIT
Alcohol consumption is NOT permitted openly at any City Park. Consumption within or inside a privately owned tent, camper, or recreational vehicle will be allowed during this special event only.
